Art in the Open (AiO) is a citywide event that celebrates artists, their inspirations for creating art, and their relationships with the urban environment. Art in the Open debuted in June 2010, bringing a selected group of artists to the Schuylkill Banks - from the historic Fairmount Water Works to Bartram's Garden - to inspire new ways of seeing the river and the city it runs through. For four days, June 9-12, thirty-five artists worked outside in a creative process open to everyone.

I created a website to complement the event activities. I updated and expanded an existing logo and design and created a bespoke content management system built on the Django web application framework. I worked with the client to determine the most important information to display and created a clean and consistent navigation for the site. The site features artist profiles, AiO partner information, AiO and partner events calendar, and information about Art in the Open. The site was built as a framework that allows the client to easily update content and will allow the site to expand and grow for future Art in the Open events.
